The Process
1. The coir is manually peeled and the shells are crushed to obtain fibers.
2. The fibers are disinfected and sun-dried until reaching 30–35% humidity.
3. They are then processed to manufacture fine ropes.
4. The fine ropes are twisted to create thick ropes.
5. With these thick ropes, mats are handwoven. The finished mats are disinfected with LP gas flame at 800–1000 °C.
6. They are rolled, tied, and stored in a clean, dry space, making the rolls ready for shipping.
